CBaySystems launches CBayLEAP

Strengthens its training capabilities in Medical Transcription outsourcing

Mumbai - June 26, 2009: CBaySystems, the world’s leading provider of medical transcription services, today announced the launch of CBayLEAP - an online educational platform to address the training needs of its increasing workforce. This tool will assist in campus recruitments, training and development of Medical Transcription professionals along with providing an interactive training experience for new employees. The company further  aims to improve the performance of their staff by introducing coherent career development and training tools that will streamline the entire Leaning & Development process within CBaySystems, which will in turn, be monitored and supervised remotely by the company.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Dinesh Kumar, COO and Director – India Operations, said, “CBaySystems has been steadily growing in both size and scale over the last few years, and we have added considerably to our workforce in this time, We plan to increase operations further and move from our current staff strength of 6,200 people, to reach 10,000 by 2010. In line with this, we believe that effective training will be a crucial enabler of this growth, and with the launch of CBayLEAP, we will offer world-class learning and development tools to our employees across our offices to aid in their development and skill improvement.”

CBayLEAP’s foundations lie in a vast repository of well-researched medical training material, drawing upon industry-best manpower and resources only available to CBay.  It will be accessible and delivered through a single platform resulting in improved quality of transcription. With healthcare being a highly regulated function, superior quality and high levels of accuracy are of paramount importance. This implementation will help the company move from a partially computerized learning system to a fully computerized training system which will assist in overall addition, attrition, and authentication of production activities, across the company.

Commenting on the development, Mr. Ashish Tanna, Vice President – Quality Assurance and Training said, “CBayLEAP will help provide consistent, convenient, and standardized benefits to aid in the development and enhancement of employee skills and talent, so that their development is in line with our overall corporate strategy and vision.”

Starting with an Online Recruitment Portal for new recruits, CBayLEAP goes on to provide an interactive and responsive training experience for new Medical Transcriptionists.  The fully functional MT and editing training platforms simulate real-life production situations and ensure that all trainees have a successful beginning to their careers. Its Continuing Education Programs equip novices as well as experienced MTs with state-of-the-art knowledge and techniques, and the portal also features a smart and flexible Learning Management System that provides for efficient learning and prompt assessment.

“With CBayLEAP, we will have an effective mechanism to cater to the needs of employees at a much wider range. It is also expected to serve as a cost and resource control platform from a training perspective, while at the same time providing online feedback and MIS to help students understand and grow faster.”, added Mr. Tanna.

Today, industry bodies peg the US healthcare outsourcing market to be in the range of $12 billion, which is expected to reach around $18 billion by 2010. In consistency with the market, CBaySystems has witnessed rapid growth in this field. With its acquisition of a majority ownership of MedQuist in 2008, CBaySystems was transformed into a global leadership position in the healthcare services industry. Today, along with MedQuist, CBaySystems provides a suite of healthcare technology and medical transcription services to over 1700 hospitals and a large number of physician practices in the United States. It also provides transcription technology and services into the NHS market in the United Kingdom.
